Got a chance to take one of my good buddys out to the lake last week. We went to Bashan hoping that the rain would hold off. It did for the most part but boy did we have an odd day.

We started fishing shoreline points with spinnerbaits and I got a nice hit on the first cast. I like others don't like hooking up on the first cast so I really did not set the hook good and he fell off, wich was fine for me.

That waas the only fish that hit a spinnerbait for the rest of the day. We started fishing texas rigged worms as well as grubs on a jig head around rocky sorelines and rock piles. I was thinking smallmouth but all we got were largemouth.

Between the two of us we got around twenty bass, none of good size. I don't know what happened to this lake but every fish was about 11". It was fun to get action but the quality was just not there.

Here is Pat with one of the better fish. I was making fun of him with his black glove all day, calling him OJ LOL!

Here I am with a duplicate of all of the other twenty fish caught.

They got a size problem in here last few years have not produced well at all.

Nice numbers even if the size wasn't there for you! The only fish I've ever gotten there that weren't small came from deep water! Everything along the shoreline seems the same size as the ones you got!

Is the lake overpopulated?
If so when Quint`s Revenge and I were kids a marine biologist showed us how to increase the size of the fish in the lake we lived on 10 fold.I can explain if u interested.

Nice job Jester and Pat. Looks like your friend there is a firm believer in wearing camoflage clothing so the bass don't see him from below. Very Happy
