Phish (aka Jed) is going to take his boat to her new home in Missouri after the weekend, so we headed up to East Twin Lake to give her at least one more dunking in clean, clear Connecticut fresh water. We got on the water at 6:00 am and off at 1:00 pm. When we launched, the sky was overcast and it was already nice and warm. At first, there was little to no wind. The water temperature ranged from 64 to 65 degrees, so we figured that the largemouth bass had to be spawning. Neither of us had ever been on the lake before, so we just worked our way around it in a counterclockwise direction. Jed threw some big swimbaits, including a six inch Huddleston rainbow trout. I threw a seven inch Tru-Tungsten® Tru-Life Swimbait in gold tilapia for a while, but it's much too heavy for my bass fishing gear, so I switched to a Mepps Musky Killer:
It didn't take long to get the skunk off of the boat. At 6:20 am, I landed a yellow perch:
And seven minutes later, I landed the first of many rock bass:
I also landed a small chain pickerel, but the little f#@%er  bit my finger when I was removing all three points of the treble hook from its mouth, so I didn't get a photo of it. We saw some beds in the shallows on the north end of the lake, but they all seemed to be either empty or occupied by rock bass:
We worked our way around the island/point in the middle of the lake. As the sun came out from behind the clouds, a south wind began to blow from five to 15 miles per hour. At 8:55 am, after we got to around the tip and began getting blown up its rocky west shore, I finally got a hit from an actual largemouth bass:
Jed called its size; exactly two pounds, eight ounces. Ten minutes later, I landed another, smaller bass:
The bite really slowed after the sun and wind came up, and we got away from the island/point. I ended up landing two yellow perch, 19 rock bass, one chain pickerel and two largemouth bass. Unfortunately, we never figured out where the largemouth bass are spawning. And only because I promised myself when it was frikken cold outside that I wouldn't complain when it got hot, I won't b!^@# about the full sun and mid-80s air temperature. I'll just say that I definitely wasn't cold today.

You are like the luckiest man alive!!! I have to ask are you retired, independently wealthy or just don't have a job? Or maybe you work nights??? Seems like all you do is fish everyday! Anyways you are the man!

Hey Phil!
You went to East Twin and fished for Bass 
That's a Trophy Trout Lake that harbors "HUGE" trout over 6 lbs.
Fight like tigers also !!!!!!!
And you didn't try for them at all
Catch one of those beauties and it would be a meal for your army!
