|
|
Would anyone be interested in an online bass tournament?
Pick your fishing spot and compete...
This could be a fun way for all those people who can't actually make a REAL Tournament or to just to mix it up a little for a
change of pace...
There has to be a level of honesty and good sportsmenship in this since there won't be an offical weight in....
What I am suggesting is a tournament on a specific day, Window of time, and limit of fish. you can fish any lake or pond in CT.
I'm not sure if this would work, but im putting the feelers out to see if this could work. Please share ideas and thoughts and comments...
My initial suggestions (which are open to discussion) are as follow:
Participants Register on the forum like on any other tournament so we know who is actually competing and where you will be fishing.
a Start and end time... Your photos of the fish you are submitting have to posted in the thread for the tournament.
All photos have to be posted within 6 hours after the tournament.
once all photos are posted, we will see who the winner is.
all Fish being used in the tournament must be photographed.
(photographed while on a digital scale?)
You must have a photographer with you, to show you in the photo as well as the fish and how much it weighed.
5 Fish Limit?
6 Hour competition?
Lunker winner?
Please share your thoughts... I'm not sure if this has been done before but i think it could be a fun approach to fishing and could make things interesting...
what do you guys think? _________________ ~ Marc

Initially I looked at this and said,..nah,..but reading it for the second time now, it is a pretty unique and cool idea! Let's try to plan to try it for the weekend after Mansfield,..July 28 & 29. I don't see any reason why we can't let folks fish either (or both) days,..but to be semi-fair,..you should only be able to count 1-day of fishing in the tourney!
I'll start the sign-up,...
Rules:
1) Winner is calculated on length,..not weight!
2) Best 5 fish (bass only), 12" or over. The LONGEST fish total wins! Measure to the nearest 1/4".
3) I'm not sure if everyone has a digital camera,..so photograghs are optional,..Preferably though, each enterred fish would be photographed against a clearly visible ruler. To increase participation, partner's are not required.
4) Honor system will be used,..if anyone is THAT hard up that they would cheat in something like this,..then just tell me now and I will declare you the winner!
5) Fishing from shore is okay too!
6) You can count fish from any 8-hour stretch from sun-up to sun-down on either July 28th or 29th.
7) You can fish with or without a partner,..but results will be for the individuals!
All fish must come from water in CT.

Sounds good... I like the idea of length vs. weight....
Easier to take photos by yourself if you are fishing alone...
I will need to get one of those big rulers!

I'm definately down for this, but the only place I get to pull real big bass out of, is a private lake that I vowed never to reveal the identity of b/c i'm a guest there. If anyone ever actually showed up there to fish, i'd probably get castrated. I like the idea though and would definately do it. _________________ Work is for guys that don't know how to fish. |

If everyone else is cool with the private lake thing,..then it's fine with me! I put it down as a rule because I anticipated that others might get bent out of shape if the winner comes from somewhere that they can't go,...but for the first tourney at least, let's open it to fishing anywhere in CT! _________________ "If people concentrated more on the really important things in life there'd be a shortage of fishing poles."

Flukeprodigy,..I hate people that talk in high, squeaky voices,..so we'll cut you slack about naming the place so you don't get castrated! _________________ "If people concentrated more on the really important things in life there'd be a shortage of fishing poles."
