Went out last night between 7 and 11. Tried South Benson, nothing. Tried southport harbor, the bridge and mouth, nothing. My dad had these bumps that were probably bunker running through the line. Up near the bridge, I saw fish breaking the surface. Friday night I witnessed the same thing in south Benson. Last night. I mainly threw a chicken scratch bomber and black/ purple redfins. We didnt catch anything. Maybe next time I'll use black lures.

There is a ridiculous amount of bait in SP. Alewives,Herring, shad, bunker, eels, etc. I think it's going to be hard to catch anything on lures there right now. As soon as fresh bunker is available thats what I'm going to use. Last night my friend had a few blow ups on eels but hooked no fish.

Anyone check it out there at night in the past couple days?

My luck came w/ outgoing night tides. Do the fish still stack up if its not outgoing? Has anyone located the bait further up mill river?

the bait is way the hell up past perry's ponds. Look for birds. But don't go netting anything unless you want a hefty fine.... & I know ppl in the area that wouldn't hesitate to call dep if they see poachers.

Fished near the mouth of the harbor. A bunker school showed up, I dont think anything was chasing them. Had a hit off a krocodile spoon, likely a schoolie or small blue.

Are you fishing from shore? I'm a newbie trying to find some shore spots. Thanks.

Keep throwing kid. The math will connect you with a fish sooner or later. Just have to get yourself into the equation.

Went to southport, both plugged and chunked. Nothing. The reason for this, I think, is the lack of bait in the area in the past few days. Tomorrow, I will chunk in the harbor. I heard Jimmy O has fresh bunker. Hopefully some bunker will show up tomorrow.

Jimmy is out of freshies. I just went there. I went all over last night. Tidemill, ye yacht, south benson, ash creek. Had 1 run. Then later went to check the bait on my rods and i thought 1 was snagged. Then it started pulling back. Thought i hooked a keeper but it turned out to be the biggest eel i ever saw. Was as thick as a schoolie bass. Swallowed a 8/0 circle hook w a bunker chunk. Luckily it came off right at shore. Yuck. My leader was full of awful slime.

Jimmy o had fresh bunker when I went there. Fished the yacht yard. Saw bunker breaking the surface, but my snagger got stuck in the rocks. Besides that I only got a spider crab.
