Fished Candlewood with one of the BAWS guys on Friday night. Before angling Willis snacked, then we got on the water around 5:30pm. It was breezy and some big wakes were being pushed around. Took about an hour for us to each get our first rats in the boat - a LM on a chatterbait and a SM on a crawbug. Fishing started picking up just before dark. Willis had a huge hit around 8:30 that ran for a second then snapped his 12 lb test. Needless to say, he was disappointed. Once it got dark, the rain, wind, lightning and thunder came in. We caught some fish during the storm and a little after, but nothing from 1am-2:30 pm. There was a lot of surface activity and you could here the bass crushing the alewives, but once it hit a certain point, they didn't want anything to do with our baits. We caught about 15 total fish up to 3.5 lbs, good mix of SM and LM. We got fish on jig'n'pigs, chatterbaits, 10-inch worms, spinnerbaits and one on a surface plug. Most fish came between 12-4 feet. Once the wind died back down, it was a great night. |

Way to tough it out especially during the thunder-storm! Hope you guys waited out the storm rather than fishing in it. _________________ Eat, Sleep, Fish......I Love my SKEETER ZX225!!!

Nice going,..but be careful when the weather turns noisey!! A few more fish is not worth dying for!!! _________________ "If people concentrated more on the really important things in life there'd be a shortage of fishing poles."

It never got really bad where we were. We could see the lightning flashes and hear the thunder, but the main part of the storm went a couple miles to the north. Trust me, I was ready to bunker down at a dock if I felt the need. |
