Hit Bantam Sunday 9am-1pm. Water temps ranged 53-58. I normally don't fish Bantam this early, its pretty weird to have 3-5ft of visibility. The water is still pretty stained but not as bad as in the summer and fall. The wife and I fished pretty hard. Only one keeper bass, a small jaw that went close to two lbs and a nice fiesty 26" pike. We got the smalley on a fluke which is always fun and the pike on a spinnerbait.
This was the first time out this year in my boat. The 17 ran flawlessly! A half a tank of fuel and the wife with 52 jackets I was able to get 60 mph GPS. |

Now THAT's the way to keep your wife from asking to come along with you on your boat! Did you offer her a helmet? And nice work with the spinnerbait. I'm hoping that it'll work well on Lake Champlain in a couple of weeks.
I'm also actually hoping that my wife will go kayaking with me this year. Everyone says that she'll go only once. I'm hoping for several trips. I think we'll try Bantam River first. It's a lazy and scenic paddle. _________________ Don't forget to wear sunscreen and don't litter! |
