Caught and released my personal best today!!
8 feet of water. Water temp around 50-51
1/4 oz football jig head w/Yamamoto twin tail grub in green pumpkin
Had like a 10" fish half way down and another hook in the roof of its mouth that seemed infected.
Not much of a fight until it saw the boat.
My only fish of the day, we boated ten keepers today all nice quality fish.
You guess the weight...I'll pm you the exact weight

Some really close guesses. Pictures are somewhat deceiving.
First I'm a pretty large dude. 5'11" 260, Pretty thick as my friends say. I don't miss too many meals. You can say it makes the fish look smaller.
When I first saw the fish flash and run at the boat it looked more like a 10. My buddie said the same. It looked huge in the net.
Fat...had a 10" or better fish in its stomach..we guessed by the with of the tail.
We weighed it 3 or 4 times .............7lbs 8 oz
You know its a good one when you use your whole hand to lip em!!
Seemed pretty funny hooking something that big on a 3/0 single hook
which by the way came off with the fish in the net |
