That does suck. I was gonna take the kayak out tomorrow by salmon river, but I might think twice about that now. |

Very frustrating. I was hoping this would be the 1st weekend of the season for the Whaler on the river but it doesn't look like it now.
Thanks for sharing the info.

Hi!
Yeah! This up-swing in the height of the Ct. River is going to raise havoc with anyone planning to do any Shad fishing!...and I was hoping to do some this year

I'm noticing a pattern here...
It's Wednesday and the river is below flood stage, however we are expecting rain which will probably put it back above flood stage just in time for the weekend.
If so this will be the 3rd weekend in a row where the CT river is above flood stage, while during the weeks it has been dropping below.
Very annoying for the weekend boater...

It is really caused by scheduled releases of upstream dams. They have alot more water up norrth now than we do..so plan on seeing this pattern for a while longer...

Yeah Johnny I have heard that, but I've had no idea which ones or when/how often they do it. Always figured it was a combo of snow melt and spring rain.
I feel like these mid week rainstorms have been messing up the weekend plans. We didn't get much on the shore yesterday but it looked like north us got more.
