| Hit the Farmington this morning pretty good. Fished Satan's Kingdom, the TMA, went to Riverton....nothing all morning....it was a beautiful morning though....Going to hit the Housy now for stripers, wish me luck... |

How was Satan Kingdom's water flow?
I have found that any time the water is moving really fats there the fish don't want to bite.

I threw everything at them: worms, phoebes, blue fox spinners, trout magnets, super dupers, rooster tales, rapalas and the kitchen sink. When the water is moving there, they just don't want to bite for me.
Anytime you want to go there and prove me wrong I am all up for it.

| i was throwin various blue fox spinners and a husky jerk...nada...the water was running pretty good but too bad, i mean i was in the middle of the river in my waders so it couldnt have been that bad....also, ended up not fishin the housy today, maybe in the morning, if so i will post... |

Hi!
Where were you guys fishing? -> Out into the Farmy river?
When the river is flowing that fast and heavy -> the fish will hold very close to the banks and on the bottom where the flow is less due to bank and bottom drag on the water.
I've fished the Farmington, Salmon, and other streams in Ct. for many many years -> and every spring I've seen this happen over and over.
It's a fact that Trout are not going to expend energy fighting heavy flows and current, but find the least amount of flow which is usually at the bottom.
Water will be fast and unimpeded in the upper half of a river or stream -> where as the bottom half will be slowed due to rocks, obstructions, and bottom drag. That's where your lure or bait has to be.
I use to live near the Salmon River and the fish would hold so tight to the bank during heavy spring flows, that you could use a net to scoop them up with!
Try paralleling the bank when you cast a lure or drifting bait right along the bank from up river so the bait gets down and bumps along bottom.
This has worked for me countless times.

i hit the are between the Collinsville bridge and the train tressle.
got 4 in about an hour...river was still pretty high and fast, the fish are holding tight to the bank and down deep..
even got to see a couple dumb a** kids jump off the train bridge |

Hi Billy!
Yeah! I like fishing for trout also 
Went this afternoon (4/24/11 Easter afternoon) at 1:30 PM to West Hill.
Fished off the shore near the dam house and the boat ramp.
In 2 hours I caught 17 fish -> 15 Brookies and 2 fat Browns.
Kept 3 of the biggest Brookies and the 2 Browns.
Had lots of fun

Hey Seadog! Any tips on what rig/setup you were using over at West Hill? I seem to be a little challenged when it comes to catching trout in lakes....
