Hey guys and gals, im Looking to buy my first little boat and trailer combo for the upcoming season. My budget is max about 2000 but id like to stay below 1000 for maybe a little jon boat or something with a small outboard and trolling motor, some swivel chairs and can safely seat 2-3 people. Im a serios buyer and look forward to talking with some people and maybe going fishing. Im new to this forum too. My name is greg and i live in new britain so contact me here or i can give you my number if you have something worth my interest. Thanks |

Hey Greg,
Welcome to the site.
Finding the boat your looking for might be tough for under $1000, more around $1,500 might be a good buy depending on how well it's been maintained.
If no one here has a boat try Craigslist.
If you need tips on what to look for when choosing a boat/motor, let us know the guys on the site are very helpful and can give you pointers as to what to look for.
Example: on the motor, check the lower end unit oil, it should look like oil and not milk. _________________ Sleep...Eat...Fish!!!!! Then do it all over again. |

you shouldn't have problem finding a 14'er with a trailer for less than 1k but it probably won't have a motor. The good thing is you don't need more than a 3-15hp to power a smaller boat like that. For 1500 you should be able to put together a nice little platform. _________________ Sorry honey, looks like we will be late again due to motor problems.

I would recommend a flat bottom. That way you can put a casting deck in the front. They are usually wider and more stable, as well. _________________ Go big or go home! |

its not a gass motor. but the trolling motor really moves this thing for some good days out on a small lake, nice days. oh yah it does need one lock for oars. one side is fine, the other wont hold the pin for the oar. But thats cheap easy fix. we just use the trolling motor. everything for $800. its a bargain. especially with the trailer.
