Fished a couple of local TMAs Sunday and got the old skunk. Waters were high and fast. Bugs were out but no fish activity.

You can read more on my blog but ti's kind of boring with no fish porn. Very Happy

You can use spinning gear on the Farmington TMA.

Here is a link for some good information: http://www.mianustu.org/areafishing/farmingtonriver.html

passnthru,
so i don't feel so bad at my skunking last week. I can't wait for the water to warm. Did you get a temp reading? it was 38 last Saturday. Are you going to be able to make the class Saturday? It looks like we will have about a dozen guys and once we hit the river I may need some more help than just Carl to keep an eye on them.

i hit the local tma near my house in tolland sunday. managed 5 trout 1 bow and 4 browns, largest was about 15 inches. 4 on a brown wooly and 1 on a green horberg. water was cold and not to high but between the wind and the ice on the guides it was tough fishing. fish were all balled up on the bottom, you could see them. i heard they stocked about 2 weeks ago. they were all stocked fish.

willytrout,
i hope you know that was only ion jest, I have a friend who will always go to a hornberg even if fish are taking dries. I am not much of a streamer guy now but 30 years ago it seemed like if I was not fishing some type of dry it was a streamer. The w should start to pick up soon, the little balck stones were outragous last weekend. I am really looking forward to this season as I will have more time to fish tahn the last 4 or 5 years.

Hey passinthru, joined a couple of weeks ago. How you doin? That was my first trip to the willy this year. Cold and windy but they were biting. Never left the pool. Five fish in less than an hour. No real size, nice to work off the rust and I didn't need my auger. Going to try again this weekend weather permitting and I can find the hole in my waders.
