Went out today around 10:30 nothing was biting was pretty windy and COLD. Needless to say I lost five dollars betting a friend he couldnt catch a game fish on a freshwater mussell he found. Hecracked it open and on the first cast landed a trout at the small pond before the public beach.

I tipped my jig with a bit of it hoping to land a nice LMB after that but nothing. I never thought a trout would take it, sunfish and catfish deffinatly but a trout I was shocked

Repairs aren't done yet. Water level is 3-4 feet low and trailered boats were having trouble with the shallow conditions at the launch.

(Upper Moodus last Sunday...the mussels were ravenous.)

Most bass anglers don't use live bait though. No one should expect to catch multiple bass on artificial lures when the water temp is barely 40 degrees. Look at the Pickerel tourney results from yesterday. Most of us caught nothing during those 7 hours.
