| I am actually going to try to catch some crappie this year that are big enough to eat and try it because I have heard that they are a good tasting fish. I'll have to figure our where and may have to invest in smaller tackle - everything I have is geared toward bass. |

Crappies! -> Delicious!
Here's a short list of my favorite Crappie waters:
Eastern Ct.
Billings Lake - North Stonington
Lake of Isles - North Stonington (State record)
Western Ct.
Tyler Lake
Westside
West Twin
Recommend UL 6-7' rod and 4-6 lb test line -> Use small jigs or live line small shiners.

| There are alot of closer to central ct places to go than those places also that are loaded. pm me if and tell me where you are from and will let you know. I target them and eat them. best pan fish i know.... |

From the 2011 Connecticut Angler's Guide:
MOODUS RESERVOIR (Upper, Lower), East Haddam (486 acres)
BASS MANAGEMENT LAKE
• Species: (LMB CP CB S YP)
• Largemouth & smallmouth bass: 12" to 18" protected slot limit.
Daily creel limit—6 bass, only 1 may be 18" or greater.
• Other: 35 mph speed limit days, 6 mph limit ½ hour after sunset
to 8 a.m.
I also checked the regulations. Other than the slot limit for bass and the speed limit, there are no other restrictions, including a closed season, at Moodus. So, yes, Moodus is open year-round.

The increased slot/creel limit makes it a trophy bass management lake rather than a big bass management lake. Pattagansett, Mudge, Amos and Saltonstall are the others. You'll definitely notice the fish are a little chunkier and bite less frequently than somewhere like Silver. Moodus gets pounded pretty hard though, so I'd recommend you yakkers get out there before the dam gets fixed and the launch becomes useable again.

Thanks for the info.
I'm thinking of taking my yak there as well, Like Kira said better to go sooner than later before it gets pressured with boats.
