Here's an idea I just read about
Get some very thin velcro tape (Sticky back and what ever color you want) and cut the fuzzy side strip into thin strips or very small patches and apply it to your crankbait, spoon, or spinner.
Add some of your favorite scent to the fuzzy velcro as it will hold the scent for some time and disperse it slowly.
Not a bad idea , Though I'm not sure how it may alter the lure action.
Worth a try to see how well it works

Might work better on a topwater. It could make it float just under the surface, like a Rapala Husky Jerk, or still float and add to its action. |

new
new for me a banjo minnow <-----------------------------
I fished with an old friend last year and he took out his banjo minnow kit and worked 2 ponds with these things.
The pickerel were killing them and the bass were doing just about the same.
I used a senko, buzzbait, and jerkbait.
I am a person that, unless its a rough day of fishing, will use a different lure / bait then the other person(s) fishing with me just to see what else will the fish hit at a specific time and place..... _________________

phs - I'm like you. When I go out for dinner with my wife, I always order something different than she, because I know that I'll get to eat half of hers, anyway. _________________ Don't forget to wear sunscreen and don't litter! |

Does anyone here have a strong recommendation for a commercial bait/lure scent?
And, no, DVP, Chocolate AXE is not for what I'm looking. . . . _________________ Don't forget to wear sunscreen and don't litter! |

the chicks love it though lol.....I find that for Bass the presentation is so much more important than anything. Anytime I have used attractant in the past ive mostly got alot of Pickeral.....Just my opinion... |

I feel differently... bass have an incredible sense of smell and they use that as their #2 sense for feeding (second to the lateral line) With that said I am very big proponent of using scent.
I really like Megastrike and Lunker Sauce. I used to use bang but they make that kinda watery now and it doesnt last as long. I really really like Megastrike! _________________

Hey, hey, DVP! No haters here!
Since I fish so slowly, I'm inclined to give scents a try. I've heard quite a bit of positive feedback from several fishermen whose opinions I respect, including Tralli. My fishing guide at Walt Disney World, Dave Osani, said that he's seen enough to believe in it. Everyone who has recommended scents to me has done so almost sheepishly. If they're willing to recommend them despite any embarassment they might feel about using them, I'm willing to give them a try. _________________ Don't forget to wear sunscreen and don't litter! |

I have reason to believe that bass like the scent of garlic. _________________ Kira

Very true, when she asks "what do you think i should order"
you tell her to order something you like this way you make out very well / full in the end.
Banjo yes! Dah Banjo slow sink!
Fishing slow can be frustrating but, is key to catching fish in many conditions
Scents work well in tubes.
I used to fill a tube with sent, poke some holes in it with a tooth pick (so scent cn leak out slow) and stuff a piece of broke work up its hole to stop any scent form leaking out too fast! _________________

I'm gonna give the bigger bait ..bigger fish theory a try, just apprehensive about lower numbers of fish caught. Even small fish are fun to catch, if you catch plenty of them! _________________ LESS WHINING,MORE FISHING. |
