| im trien to catch some smelt i was wondering if anyone had some advice i never caught any and would like to try with the jig rod |

Hi A!
Only smelt in Ct. are in Colebrook Res. and Hogback Res. !
Tomorrow though is the last day you can fish for them there because both are closed to fishing till April.
It's illegal to fish for sea run smelt in Ct.
In Mass. -> Smelt season also closes on Feb. 28th 2011!
