My favorite is usin A caddis dry tied with CDC and use a caddis emerger bead head as a dropper. Very succesful combo in a lot of the rivers. |

tav1,
depends on the time of year. early season I will use a lightly weighted hendrickson nymph as a dropper off of a parachute hendrickson or red quill. later on I like the caddis / pupa like Icetilt, in the summer I like a hopper with a size 16-18 sunken ant pattern. I will also use a larger dry with a small dry. I like to use a size 16 cdc/elk caddis with a 24 or 26 trico parachute dropper (old eyes can't always see those small patterns).
hope this helps,
