Candlewood is a mighty big lake to fish for the first time from a new kayak. Plus, you could run into some pretty heavy wakes out there from the big boat guys. You might want to start in a smaller pond or river to work the bugs out and yourself into paddling shape. _________________ Don't forget to wear sunscreen and don't litter! |

Well First Welcome Aboard C More, Enjoy !!!! i think PECo has a good point. not that i know candelwood or have ever been there but if you may do well to wade on the side of caution. Safety should be your first concern, the FUN will follow. _________________ "I was so poor growing up that if I wasn't a BOY I'd have had nothing to play with"

Hi C more!
Welcome!
Have to agree totally with PECo and Old Mud.
If your a 1st time kayak paddler -> Best to get use to a kayak on small waters
Also recomend you have - "ALL" - your safety gear before you go
Best regards,
