Hi All,

I just found this site and I'm enjoying it so far. I am joining for the advice and tips I can glean from you all.

I am from Griswold, CT. I love all types of fishing, fresh and salt, but my favorite has to be catfishing (bullhead) on a warm summer night. I am just getting into ice fishing.

Because of where I work, I am lucky to have access to very productive striper and bluefish waters on Long Island Sound, which is off-limits to the general pubilc. (I don't mean to sound like I'm bragging but, err... Ok, I guess I am!! Laughing

Thanks for the welcome, Old Mud!

Of course I'll share what little knowlege I have with the group but I can guarantee that it won't be a fair trade and I'll be the one making out in the deal! I'll input what I can and will try to answer any questions that come my way.

I don't have a boat you can have so the $5 is "in the mail"! If you don't receive it soon then I'll have to owe it to you! (Much better to owe it to you than cheat you out of it, right?) Shocked

Great guess about the Nuke plant- I work at Millstone Nuclear Power Station in Waterford, CT, which is right on Long Island Sound. I am allowed to fish right from shore in restricted waters and it is probably my favorite "fringe benefit" of working there! No crowds and that includes no boats to get in the way of my surfcasts. (Ok, so I'm not very accurate and I need lots of room!) Laughing

Anyway, thanks again and I hope you had a great holiday!

Welcome Nighthawk.
Are you aware that you live near Hopeville, Pachaug, Ashland, Glasgo & Aspinook? GEEZ, have another helping of awesome ponds why don't you.

If you're "getting into ice fishing," you need to get yourself on Hopeville this winter. Keep in mind the season closes 2/28 & the other 4 are open year-round. Why on earth are you trying for bullhead instead of pike or monster bass?
