According to the definitions in the 2009 Angler's Guide (it's what I have here, sorry) bullheads/all species of catfish are considered to be "panfish," which have no minimum length or limit. Doesn't seem right to me either...maybe the 2010 guide has updated info since the channel cat stocking program is relatively new (2007.)
Edit: Looked at the online guide and it appears to say the same thing. BTW, The state record channel cat is bigger than the state record pike (29 lbs.) by 6 oz....that's quite the panfish!
Edit again: My DEP buddy confirmed there are no size/creel limits on channel cats. _________________ Kira

Thanks Turtle Kiss. I didn't see anything in the regs either and that was confusing. Thankks for confirming with DEP! |
