Austin, how many amps are you looking for ? What thickness of stock ? Duty cycle ETC. Do you know you can get several models of small Mig machines for about that price ? i can send you some sites that have them if you want.

Not gonna get a miller for that price, but you can buy a lincoln with Gas rig new for that at Homer D poe. If you are not using it for daily production, you should be fine with the lincoln.

My dad had a lincoln that we have used and abused and it continues to burn well.

FYI,

I use to manage a welding supply store.

A Hobart is a miller in a different case. They just lower the duty cycle, not much more, just some small stuff.

Ron.

I will not be working with any steel over 1/4 inch. I found a lincoln SP140T on line new for about $530 and that is what i plan on getting. I do know thath the millers are more expensive but you get what you pay for. I like the millermatic 140 but again its over mmy price range and ultimately i do not need a top of the line welder. As for amps i would like something near a 30-140 amp capability. I just put it out here in cas anyoe knows of someone selling a used lincoln or miller. thanks for the responses. Also, if i could just ask what you think of the lincoln SP140T . i will be doing light steel welding, nothing serious, nothing over 1/4 inch. Thanks Guys.

I have had a lincoln weldpak 110 for 15 years, I have nothing to complain about it has always worked great, the only thing that I will say is a must is buying large wire spools, the small spools are a waste of money, they always seemed to get jammed.
