I'm sorry I missed her maiden voyage. I was sorely tempted to sneak over to Nod Brook today, but I had to run a lot of errands while I had my wife's car available to me.

It's big but I'm able to strap it on top of my accord using foam blocks. I'm just strong and tall enough to get it on top of my car unassisted but it's not too tough. Plus my car is old so i don't really care about scratching the roof at all. I actually took it out for the first time today to nod brook for 2 hours. Didn't catch anything but it was such a nice day. It was just nice to get out on the water and test the boat out a little. Definitely extremely happy about the purchase.

I'm on my thanksgiving break all week and I'm home in Simsbury so I was going to try to get out there as much as possible. Tomorrow and monday are both possibilities if the weather is right. Sorry to hear about your car though. That happened to me 2 summers ago- fortunately i found a guy who was able to patch the crack rather than buying a whole new oil pan and it cost me $80. The patch held up for the rest of the time I had the car.

I must have missed you. I was on Nod Brook from 11:30am to 1:30pm and ended up not catching anything either. I did get shot at 2 or 3 times...Wink well at least it seemed like it.

i was on the water from about 2 30 to 4 30. i might try fisher meadow or nod tomorrow- i dont even really care about catching anything. Im more excited to do some scoping out on my new kayak for the spring. what were you throwing in there today? i had white and chartreuse spinnerbaits, and a green pumpkin senko. it was really beautiful out there

You guys must not have had any five inch green pumpkin/red flake Senkos on you today! Surprised Seriously, though, I want to throw a spinnerbait around both ponds at Nod Brook at least one more time. I picked up a couple of old-school chartreuse spinnerbaits at Mike's Gun and Tackle in Oakville last week and just have to tie them on.

I was throwing both the 5" green pumpkin and purple senkos. I was also throwing a black and red spinnerbait. It was a very nice day out there.

oh, and i forgot to respond about the naming of my kayak....im going to have to go with rufus. it means red in latin, but when i first saw the kayak it reminded me of this old Rufus (featuring Chaka Khan) vinyl record i have in which Chaka Khan is planted in a big red couch shaped like a pair of lips. the tunnel hull design of the kayak totally reminded me of the lip couch.....

apparently freddie hubbard used the same couch-

Welcome, you big tromboner! Congrats on not buying the Pelican blue floating torture device.
