DirtyDawg10 (aka Derek) and I fished Spring Pond from 10:00 am to 2:45 pm. It was a "good news, bad news" kind of day:
The good news is that I got to fish with The Other Woman in a Hawaiian shirt today! We had bluebird skies and little to no wind. The air temperature went from 40 to 65 degrees and the water temperature from 46 to 49 degrees while we were there. The water was murky, with visibility down to only two feet. There are still a lot of scattered weed beds. I found a lot of deeper water with my fish finder. The pond is actually 17 feet deep in spots, particularly by the second (i.e., north) island.
The bad news is that I didn't see a single aquatic animal today. I threw a wacky Senko, a chartreuse spinnerbait, a black spinnerbait, a perch Rapala, a silver Rattletrap and a brown football jig, and all I caught was the skunk. Derek saw a yellow perch that followed a swimbait back to The Manatee, but that's the closest either of us got to a fish
Boy, I hope that the fishing is better tomorrow. _________________ Don't forget to wear sunscreen and don't litter! |

Hi Phil,
Was a nice day to be out.
To bad about the shunk on Spring Pond.
Daryl told me he, you, and DD will be going up to Winchester tommorow.
If you want I can bring you guys a bucket of Goldies to live line and drift for Pike!
Let me know!
Stephen

I haven't confirmed our plans, yet, but it would be me, Daryl and Tim, not Derek. I'm trying to work around Tim's availability, with his mom and all. I'll let you know when I figure it out. _________________ Don't forget to wear sunscreen and don't litter! |

It was a gorgeous day to be out on the water but like Phil said...other then the one yellow perch that followed my swimbait we didn't see any fish. It could have been worse though...I could have been raking leaves instead It was a perfect November day.
Unfortunately I won't be doing any fishing tomorrow I get to rake the leaves tomorrow. Well actually my kids get to rake and I get to use my 5hp leaf blower. |
