Went to Candlewood today,9am to 4pm, temp was 50, with strong winds, water temp was 51 degrees, water was murky with leaves floating threw the top 10 ft of water, very slow day, fish are scattered everywhere, tried humps, points, shallow and deep. Tried drop shot, crankin, jigs(of all sizes), cabin creeks, tubes, grubs, etc you name it and my friend and I probably tried it. anyway after 5 hours of catching nothing, I tried trolling a DT22, I felt like a trout fisherman trolling, but holy shit did they hammer it, caught 5 smallies all over 3lbs, found them suspending in deep water, I was also pulled over by the DEP, as we were talking he had told me to send in for my refund, I went online and it seems I could go to a DEP office any time after DEC 1, 2010 and they will credit me otherwise you must get a refund sheet online, send it in, and wait for your refund through the mail, |

Hey, flippy, don't let the naysayers get to you. I'm extremely impressed that you hung in there and figured out what worked. Other than the one smallie that Jed caught at our secret spot next to Gerard's, we didn't catch even a glimpse of a fish. You can bet your a$$ that we would have been trolling DT22s if we had known that it would work.
And I'll also bet that Zman will make sure he has a deep diving crankbait in his tacklebox before the next time he hits Candlewood! _________________ Don't forget to wear sunscreen and don't litter! |

Flippy...
Please tell me you were not really trolling... You meant, throwing the DT over rock piles and foundations etc.
The only time I have known you to troll is when you had your rhinestone studed thong on and dancing to the "thong song".
Whats next, buying a kicker?
See you tomorrow.. _________________ Sleep...Eat...Fish!!!!! Then do it all over again. |
