Batterson might be closed to protect the stocked walleye. Not from me, of course, but from those who can catch them. _________________ Don't forget to wear sunscreen and don't litter! |

As I was told, Batterson is closed because of insurance purposes being that the city of Hartford owns the property. |

Noooooooooooooo...NOT BATTERSON!!!!
Daryl - That weirdo actually did you a favor.
Ron - Who needs a scanner when there there are plenty of mobile apps that do the same thing? I'm not endorsing any of the following, but it's no secret that they exist, just like the apps that tell you where the speed traps and cameras are.
Scanner Radio - "Allows you to listen to live audio from over 2,300 police and fire scanners, railroad communications, and weather radio broadcasts from around the world (with more being added daily)."
PoliceStream: "Listen to 1800+ mostly US police/fire/ems stations streams almost in real time (few seconds delay.) Streams come from independent providers and may be on/off line."
Alternately, there are websites designed for mobile phones that stream police/fire/EMT radio frequencies...for example: http://m.radioreference.com/
Click on "RR Live Audio" and Navigate to the CT section. How illegal is that?
Farmington just happens to be on that list of streams... _________________ Kira

Kira, cool heads up on the mobile scanning apps. Now we don't have to wonder wtf is going on when we see the cops all over the Berlin Turnpike when I'm at work. There's always some crackhead getting stuffed into a cruiser within eyesight of my desk weekly.
We all have Droid phones in the office, so I filled in the co-workers.
I know you're heart-broke over Batterson being off limits now Kira. I guess your honey hole is not going to reward you another lunker! (Just Kidding)
Anyone seeing any decent action this week in the bass/pike department? I'm gonna give things one last go this Sunday, somewhere, sometime.... _________________ Daryl

Hi All!
Just happened to run into Ed Machoski (DEP Fishries Biologist) today!
He confirmed that Batterson is closed by Hartford for insurance liability reasons.
