Took a nice walk this morning. A little pre-season scouting trip. Some one stole my treestand..WTF Oh well. Saw 4 deer. 3 were buck. Looked like a nice 8 a 3 and a 6. all together. won't be long now. Another week or so sgould kick off the rut.
I stayed about 80-100 yards away. I was up wind and it didnt seem to bother them a bit. I think they were all trailing does.
Awesome day to be in the woods |

I just drove by a doe that was standing on the corner as I made the turn around it. It showed no fear at all. _________________ Don't forget to wear sunscreen and don't litter! |

Hi Phil!
Yeah! I've got this one 8 point Buck and 2 Does that feed in my back yard, most afternoons, and show no fear at all!
Even MacDonough doesn't seem to bother them when I let him out on the enclosed deck.
That'll most likely change in a week or two!
Have also seen a number of does feeding, during the day, in the grassy areas along side Rt. 8 between Torrington and Winsted.
Not me, but the wife keeps seeing Black Bears crossing Rt. 44, early in the morning when going to work, in the New Hartford area.
Keep hearing about some Moose running around in Colebrook in the swampy areas west of Winsted.
Did notice though a lot more Racoon and Opossum road kills the last 7-10 days.
Turkeys - All over the place! -> Nailed one with my Dodge Dakota 2 weeks ago.
Nice about hunting with my pick-up truck is NO BIRDSHOT to pick out!

Seadog there is defaintly something that lives around Winchester lake. At night when I was fishing the stump fields there was something that had the silhouette of a huge cat. I didn't want to believe it was a moutain lion until I got home that night... _________________ http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o21/PickerelPete/IfeH-r.gif |
