I agree w/ Brennan. I got a whole bunch of crap about a report for pike on a lake that most people didn't even know held pike. I finally caved in and now people from this forum are going there and fishing for them (which is fine because they are not catching them) . Not only that, but almost every week it is in the DEP fishing report under pike, when I had not seen it once before last year. I'm sure the locals who were nice enough to clue me in are not happy about it either, since it is a fairly small body of water with a good population of big pike. The point is why do you have to know where I'm catching them as long as I am sharing how. Would you like me to put a bouy in the spot I fish for you, too. I am always forthcoming with as much info as I can think of, and it's not that big of a deal, as I am the one who made the decision to give the lake name. It really pissed me off with the responses I got, though, when I posted. Like I said before - go find your own body of water. Or people who do not want to give the location will probably stop posting as I almost did. Who would that help? _________________ Go big or go home! |

I'm kinda of the mind that it's kinda like television. If you don't like the Lake X reports, then don't read them or change "the channel." I certainly wouldn't want to miss out on the fact that someone clued in to something the fish are doing in seasonal conditions that could help me out on the water just because they don't post any more. Maybe they could make a new tab for Lake X reports for those who just want to show off their fish. That's part of THEIR love of fishing. To each their own. Sure, I'd appreciate more info that would help tell me what type of lake it is (deepest depth, estimate of acreage, etc), but if all they tell me is what they caught it on, I'm still learning SOMETHING. I don't do Lake X reports simply as a matter of choice because I want Joe "I just got my first boat" Blow to be able to hop on here and see where people can find fish with regularity; but I think I understand those who choose not to give away their locations too.
Nick, sorry about your accident. Glad you guys are OK. |

So if Nick catches an 8lb bass in a 30 acre pond and post where he caught it then shows up next time and there are 10 boats out there, he did the right thing? |
