Hey SR and DD!

What????? -> Chile is a wonderful very modern country -> And very clean!!!!

I've sailed to Chile many times, to pick-up fruits and vegtables for the US market, The people are some of the friendliest people in the world!!!!!
They are on an equal par with US citizens and love their country as much as we do.

They were doing mining a long time ago, Even before the Spanish conquistadors invaded South American or the Pilgrims landed at Plymouth.

Rescue from 1/2 mile down thru exceptionally hard rock and never done before anywhere ever!!!!!!

The Chilians DID IT RIGHT!!!! Called in the experts, from all over the world, including Americans to assist!!!!!!

NO! Even we Americans couldn't have done any better or faster then they did!!!

A MARVELOUS, SAFE, and EXPERTLY done Rescue!!!!

When the world has another mine incident, the Chilians will be there to provide help!!!!!!

Best regards,

No the rescue probably wouldn't have been quicker but the mine wouldn't have been allowed to stay open with all of the safety issues it had. This would have probably been avoided altogether. The larger mining companies follow a more stringent set of rules (self regulated) in Chile but this was one of the smaller ones and apparently had many deficiencies. At least in light of this tragedy the government has stepped in and begun shutting down many of the old smaller mines that don't meet current safety standards.

Hi DD!

Exactly!!!!! -> We still have mines in the US that are still deficent in safety standards.

Thank GOD! we have here and hopefully other places around the world, that will LEARN that when an incident of this nature occures that the RIGHT THING is to call in all resources in play to save lives.

This the Chileans have to be highly comended for!!!!

Best regards,
