Hey, SkeeterJim, I definitely wouldn't wear my "fat and short" waders if they leaked. Just so you know, my wife remarked last night that all of the fishing I've been doing is making me thinner. Very Happy

And SeaDog1, it doesn't look like we'll have acceptable wind levels for paddling, to me at least, until Wednesday at the earliest. Crying or Very sad

Phil - just go get yourself a trolling motor already. You know you want one. BTW, right now you could probably cast a spinnerbait with the wind and cover the entire length of Spring Pond on the retrieve.
And your wife is right....the fishing diet will cause weight loss. Not because you're getting much exercise, but because you totally won't think to eat. When I fish 15 hours straight I'm usually too tired to heat up a can of soup when I get home. Just take a daily multivitamin and stay hydrated to avoid death.

Nice fish! Tried there today for roughly 5 min. before I had to go to work. Tossed a white buzzbait on the south shore by the little wooden playform...then it started pouring so I left. Maybe I'll see you guys there sometime soon

Until last Wednesday, I never had much faith in spinnerbaits. But I'm now a believer in black and red spinnerbaits. I know that white works, too, but I have yet to experience it.

Haha ok, I will take your word for it because I consider myself somewhat a "spinnerbait guy", lots of good luck with white and chartruese. I gotta get that black one goin then if you say so!

In the past I would always go with chartreuse, but recently it has been black all the way. It's been my go to lure the past month.

White spinner baits with a touch of red worked well at Spring Pond a few months ago... My nephew/cousin/whatever ya call him caught a huge bass on one in August. Chartreuse is almost the standard issue of spinnerbaits and works pretty much anywhere.

Black + overcast skies is pretty hard to beat though.

I have caught a fair amount at Spring on a chartruese colored spinner but this weather lately sucks, so i'll try the black there. Wish it'd stop raining for one day haha

Cots6 - You need to get yourself some waders and a raincoat:

You'd be able to fish in the rain. Plus, chicks dig it! At least, that's what I keep telling myself. Cool
