Found the site while searching for good trout fishing rivers in the area. Lots of great reports and info here.

Haven't been impressed with many of the places here in RI, so I'm looking a little further. From what I can tell, the Farmington river is about as good as it gets. I'm definitely going to try it, but I was also wondering what was worth trying out in eastern CT.

I'm primarily a spincaster (though I occasionally break out the fly rod). No boat, I usually just wade.

Anyway, great site.

Welcome to the site. Wish I could help you out but I have only fished the Farmington for trout so far. I have heard good things about the Hammonasset but have never actually fished it myself.
