I havent been able to connect to the site since about late july, so I felt as if I should still make a report of this, even though it happened almost two months ago.
Fishing at a campground pond at 12noon, under bluebird skies with little wind. I couldn't buy a bite with any bass lures in the bass areas of the lake, so I tied on a thomas bouyant and trolled around the middle of the lake for perch and crappie. To say the least, I didn't get any perch or crappie. Instead, for the first time this year, I broke the 3lb mark. And the 4lb mark. And the 5lb mark. Yes, that's right, I caught my new PB on a 1.5" spoon. And it weighed 5lbs10-oz.
I will be back to this place in early spring to catch this fish when it weighs 7lbs. And I hope to get her 9lb mother. _________________ Catch and release only.
A 4lb bass is not going to grow to 8lbs on your wall.
