Since the weather is getting cooler and cooler, I'm wondering what everyone is throwing. In fall, your able to fish faster so I've been throwing spinnerbaits and cranks with fast twitched senkos. Anyone else? What's everyone using to catch more fish? How are you presenting it to the bass?

Well, you know what I'm throwing, wacky Senkos, usually pumpkin/red flake. I've also had some luck with a Yo Zuri white lipless crankbait.

Have you guys been fishing faster or anything out of the summer routine? It seems like a good time to switch it up with the cooler temps.

I'm planning to throw a spinnerbait and a swimbait this weekend. Unfortunately, a lot of the smaller ponds I fish are too weedy for them, for me at least.

My buddy has been catching lmb on various spinners

I recently caught some lmb on a small shad color storm swimbait

Just today I lost a 5-6 pound lmb he hit a green / chartreuse senko

Today I had 0 hits on the swimbait which was the main lure I used on monday
Today I had all my fish on a senko which gave me 0 fish on monday....

Tubes, jigs, senkos, worms, buzzbaits, carolina rigs, deep crankbaits, they are still in their summer paterns on most lakes.

You guys are funny, senkos Laughing Laughing weather hasnt changed that much the weeds in most lakes are very good, HINT, HINT, And Hoppy, how do you rig a drop shot buzzbait, is that some kind of secret??? That does sound very interesting. Try throwing a rattletrap and snag some weeds in different locations, just because the tops are turning colors doesnt mean the bottoms are the same, This time of year I go for a very fast fall, I mean very fast, Bait fish are schooling so topwater this time of year is great, if thats what you do, Cranking also is very good,If your just fun fishing, take a wiggle wart and troll around the lake, hang on to your rod Laughing With the days getting shorter the weeds are going to slime very quickly, then its time to head to deeper water, With little jigs, tubes, carolina rigs, drop shot, spoons, etc. I will be heading out soon, maybe Candlewood, if anybody wants to go , let me know, Good luck and great fishin, Jim

I'll tell you what I've been throwing, but none of it has been what I'd call "productive." Frogs, 10+" monster worms, T-rigged creature baits & superflukes. I'm still fishing weeds & pads (Quonni, Breakneck & Moodus have been my 3 most recent spots.) The water's still pretty warm. I was swimming in it at 8:30 a.m. last week. Topwater action is good, but when there's white caps it kind of messes up the presentation. I'm going to have to try that drop shot buzzbait. Wink

Jim - I'd gladly go to Candlewood...I need a fish over 5.25 lbs. Do you accept artwork instead of cash?
