fished from 7:30-9:30am and picked up 5 lmb on jig in 4-8 ftw.
never fished here before so i was surprised to see NO weeds (and lots of tiny clam shells). at least the ones i am familiar with. there was only this "ground cover" weeds in 2-4 ftw.
launched the boat and motored to the north end past the beach thinking i hit the windy side when there is less wind. picked up 2 lmb on the 1st 4 casts. one going 2.8 lbs (see pic below...i know it's not 3+ lbs) and the other about 1 lbs.
continued fishing the cove to a second east side point before picking up 3 (all around 6 inches!).
continued to fish spots here and there on the southern end with no luck. even motored back up to where i caught my 1st 2 and nada...
i threw a texas rigged salamander as well.
after checking out the map, i would probably fish the deep drop offs next. |
