Ive never seen the weeds sticking out of the water where i go in the summer. They are sticking out now and its not even summer yet !!!
Maybe its because we set the clocks ahead 3 weeks earlier than usual, eh stumpy?

Generally, I'd agree with you and say that the weeds seem to be almost a month behind what they usually are for most lakes! But then there's a few spots like Rogers lake that seem to be actually heavier than usual for this time of year,....go figure!
