Hit Bantam 6-10am. Tough bite. 2 Keepers for me, 2 Keepers for my buddy...one was a nice fatty. Didnt weigh it but had to be at least 4lbs. Got another Pike. Right by the boat. almost took the rod out of my hand. Will post picks as soon as I figure how to get them off my phone
Water temps 71-73
Same pea soup

That's a nice fatty largemouth bass. And I envy you the northern pike. I haven't gotten one yet. What were your buddy and you throwing?

We got all our bass on soft plastics, beavers, senkos, craws and I threw a jig for awhile too. The Pike I got on a spinnerbait. Just before I caught that pike I had a nice hook up on a craw. Came off just before the boat. Would have gone maybe 6 lbs. The hook just came off. Couldnt believe it. Oh well, nice to see her.
Not sure why but this late season I have sure caught a ton of pike. They must have the feed bags on. I have caught them in every single one of my spots. Generally in 6-8 fow. Today's bigger bass came in 10 fow |

Thanks for the info, Stratos17. Do you always try to fish the early or late bite? _________________ Don't forget to wear sunscreen and don't litter! |

I try to beat the heat. I fish both. All of my pike this year have been in the mornings. |

Jim,
My buddy Frank is the "doctor"I Swear to those almighty he talks to the fish. He dangles a craw off the side of the boat ...just to show me the action...a 14" smalley comes up in12 feet of water and wacks it!!! I'm like holy shit WTF. Last year fishing on Tyler he has a rod hangin off the side of the boat...a spinner bait tied on. We are just trolling along and bamm 3lb largie. He's great to fish with.....I have only beat him once.
Bantam has been great this year. Let me know if you want to fish it sometime
