Moved my younger brother into his dorm at Western Conn. in Danbury so i figured after i got him settled I would hit Squantz or Candlewood from shore... Fished from 12-2pm. It was warm but there was a breeze so it wasn't too bad... Fished by the beach and causeway between Candlewood and Squantz. Started off with a 5" pumpkinseed senko, caught a 2lber within the first 10 min, felt good about things. Had another decent bass follow my senko in but didn't hit. After a while switched to a rattling rap and had a small walleye follow that into shore but turn quickly at about 5 ft from shore, which was exciting because I had never caught one before... Switched to a chatter bait and that's what i fished the rest of the day with no luck... All in all it was nice to get out, catch a fish and see some swim by haha. Considering the time of day and the lack of structure or cover where I was fishing, I was happy with the results. |
