Went to candlewood lake this morning, on the water from seven am to eleven. A few good hits but not a single hook up. You couldnt ask for a more beautiful morning on the the lake. I threw everything, plastic swimbaits, spinnerbaits plastic worms, crankbaits, topwater, I fished the west side of the lake from new milford to sherman. It just wasnt my day for catchin anything.
Not very typical for candlewood. I thoroghly enjoyed myself never the less.
saw one lake patrol boat. By eleven it was getting really busy with skiers and tubers. Time to leave.
I'm not sure if I posted this correctly. Please tell me if I havent, Thanks

Everyone gets the skunk once in a while. There's always next time.

next time try throwing a texas rigged peca craw with a weight. That bait has been helping out a lot of people that I know there. Sometimes CWood is totally shutoff though, just the way it goes.

Thanks Justin,
I'll give that a try! I really appreciate any tips I can use. Does anyone use shiners? I was killing the smallmouth last summer on lake George drifting them over dropoffs.

It was one of those high pressure bluebird days on cwood. I'd like to think that was the reason and not my technique. If we were sucessful every time out it would be called catchin instead of fishin.
