Went to the Farmington Reservoir off of Rt. 6 from about 1:00-6:00 p.m. Fished the western shore where the small parking lot is. There were two other people fishing, nobody caught anything yet. One of them was using spinnerbait and a couple of his friends said they had pulled out 4-6 lbers often while also catching big catfish.
Started throwing texas rigged senko's and also finesse worms. Fished about 4 different colors, watermelon flake and pumpkin seed. Got a few nice strong hits that bent my rod completely, went to set the hook and i got the fish. So i thought, i set the hook and i was reeling in the fish from the western shore and it dipped under a long and snapped my line. It had to be a good size. Fished the area for about another 30 minutes and got another hit but the hook didn't set so i lost that one also.
Went back on the road (Reservoir Road) and fished where all the felled trees are. This place looks like Bass City. There is so much cover and alot of areas that looks 'bassy'. Threw some top water baits and didn't manage any hits.
Only luck I got was texas rigged finesse worm. Gotta try it out again though because it seems like a place that can hold big bass all over the place.
