Hit morey pond from 8-1. Started on the front side with nothing to show for it, so we moved to the depths of the other side. Fished 10-12fow with jigs, creatures, and worms with, once again, nothing to show for it. We moved to the shade and on my first cast I land this chunk:
It was about 2lbs, but it would have went 1.5lbs if it didn't eat.
We kept working our way down the shore and I picked off a 1lbr on the jig. <1fow in the weeds. The only thing they would take was the black/blue jig. No bites on the wacky worm or creature. Just as we were about to leave, I feel a tiny bite and I see my line moving. I set the hook only to find slack, so I reeled up and I feel a fish, but before I could get a good hookset, it takes a blazing run to the side of the boat and it comes off. Had to be 3-4lbs.
If anyone goes there, bring about 20 extra jig trailers because those pickerel will tear them up. _________________ Catch and release only.

Davoforty,
That bulge in the middle of the fish looks like the exact size of a baseball. If I twisted the fish around 90 degrees it looked like a baseball was in there. It was definitely one of the fattest fish I've ever landed. _________________ Catch and release only.

I went camping in Ashford this past weekend.
I hit Morey fo rhte first time.
I caught a 4.12lb LMB along the highway, Nice fish, went under the highway and caught a few more on the other side of the highway.
Thewy went 2+. Nice little place.
I used a creature bait all day.
Thanks to Gary (Slimecoat) for telling me about that place. _________________ Sleep...Eat...Fish!!!!! Then do it all over again. |
