| Does anyone know any good pools or nice places to fish around here. I have been having the urge to pull in a nice trout. I have fished between the baseball field with very little luck and also some on the Burlington side. Any help for any spots? |

Hi!
With the hot humid Wx we're having your best bet is to go further up river and fish the Farmington were there is much cooler water coming out from the bottom of Hogback Res.
All trout are cold water fishes and will seek out colder water which holds more oxygen.

| Thanks SeaDog, I appreciate your input. Just a few more questions. Do you mean more towards the Burlington side? I was thinking about going further up river to some other spots, just wasn't sure how far up I should go. Got any tips or locations where the colder water might be? I'm kinda lost right about now. |

Hi davo!
Follow the Farmington River West along Rt. 44 till you come to Rt. 181.
When you see the steel bridge you can fish the pool below it or follow either road on either side of the bridge (West) all the way to Riverton.
There are places/pools all along both roads.
This would be a good time for you to explore the length of the river all the way to Hogback.

| FYI...The area around the steel bridge on 181/318 is catch and release only and barbless hooks. |

| Yeah I think the area where you can keep is about a mile or so up river from the bridge. |

| Yeah I know that. Thanks for the help guys. I usually catch and release anyways unless the fish swollowed the hook so I don't want to gut it. But thanks for the tips I'll check it out this weekend. |

DD you are 100% correct. 1 mile north of the bridge is where the Catch and Release starts (apparently under the power lines)
Dave do you have waders or do you fish from shore?
Some guys fish in shorts and sneakers in the water.
