I havent been to Mondo in a while (cuz its way over fished and horribly disgusting) But I stopped by yesterday just because...There was scum all over it as Ive found anywhere in Milford does right now, So I just start throwing black/blue senkos and dragging them over the top.....A bunch of 1lbers for about an hour, then i moved to a different spot. First cast got slammed, I was just hoping it didnt get off in the weeds/scum, as it got closer i new it was big and thought it could possibly be a beaver or pond rat....ended up being about 5lbs (no scale, I eyeballed it)...As its not a PB for me, it was nice to pull a pig out of the depths of that crap hole!....again...(my PB was a 9lber I got out of there 2 years ago.....
Wish I had a better picture my camera phone sucks, it doesnt do the fish justice... _________________ "Taco flavored Doritos

i been takin the canoe out on the weekends but doing shore fishin after work everyday....last week i took the canoe to Quinnepaug in Nguilford, caught a bunch of bass, and prob the biggest pickrel ive ever seen, if i didnt know better i woulda thought it was a pike...seriously huge!
once again, my phone camera sucks, when it was at my feet trying to bite me it was longer than the end of my paddle... _________________ "Taco flavored Doritos

|

I've caught a lot of pickerel. When they're at least 18 inches long, they're a lot of fun. When they're smaller, the scale tilts from fun to slimy PITA.
The biggest pickerel I've gotten was 23 inches. But I've lost a couple that I'm sure were bigger, including one that was pushing 30 inches. I'm still looking for that fish. _________________ Don't forget to wear sunscreen and don't litter! |
