Rainbow Reservoir will begin to be lowered Sunday, August 1, 2010
at 0600 hours and will continue until Tuesday, August 3, 2010. The water level will be lowered 12 to 15 feet. The project should be completed Tuesday, August 3, 2010. All generation will cease when the project is completed. It is expected to take four days to reach normal operating water levels due to low river flows.

Gary I thought of that the last time they drew the river down and the problem is the river bed never really dries enough for you to walk out on because you're litterally up to your waist in mud when you try to walk out to the structures in the river bed so I resorted to taking photos. Very Happy

Has anyone fished Rainbow Reservoir since it was drawn down? The fishing was pretty slow there earlier this summer. I wonder how it is now.

Phil, if the rez has been drawn down I don't think you will see many fishing reports from there because from what I understand it is almost impossible to launch. I may be mistaken but that's what I remember about the launch regarding the concrete slabs having a big dropoff when you get so far down.

Doesn't the fish-to-water ratio increase as a result? I'll find a way to get my fiberglass tub in there.

Kira, just make sure to tie yourself off to a tree or something just in case you sink to your waist in mud. Wink Very Happy

Very funny, guys and gal. I'm just hoping that they're letting the water flow more now than they did the last time I was there. The bite was dead with no flow.

Did you mean river flow or gastric flow??!! Wink Phil you do know warm water discharge flows are known to attract fish in the colder waters. Very Happy
