My buddy that i saltwater fish with down at the CT shore near west haven and that area told me that he had heard of some guys catching kingfish aka king mackerell, anyone else heard of this? He said that they normally are down in florida and the southern portions of the states, but because of the temperature of the water and unusually high water temps that they are up here, anyone know any different or was my friend given a false report? I'm going tomorrow to the spot these guys told him, so i will see if i can verify. |

Occasionally Spanish Mackeral are caught here. You usually hear of about 5 to 10 per season. They bite any bucktail or anything silver.
I will go out on a limb and say it wasn`t a Kingfish because kingfish need highly salinated water but you never know. _________________ The King of Long Island Sound. |
