Me and one of my friends are heading out to highland this week and was wondering if anyone had any info on the lake. Ive never been there but have always wanted to try it. Not looking for anyones secret spot or anything but just wondering what depths to fish in and maybe what baits to throw out there for the smallies and larrys.

Maniac,

This is what has worked for me. Hit the rocks and weed line with a spinner bait, if the bait is slow try a senco or tubes.

In low light or evening, I worked the shore from 15 FOW.

Watch out for the drunks...

Phish and I threw everything we could think of on Monday and didn't get much. I tried a jig'n pig, a couple of different Rapalas, and five and six inch wacky-Senkos. Phish threw a bunch of stuff, too, including some soft swim baits that are so realistic that I thought about eating them.

It might have been the weather, which was sunny and hot before a storm front rolled in. We got off the water before it hit. But several of the locals volunteered that the fishing has been very slow at the lake all year. One of them told us that some of the usual weed cover hasn't reappeared this year.
