Ok you Bassmaster Elites...
Give me your night time bass fishing tips. I have two night time tourneys coming up and I never fished for bass at night.
Anything at all would be helpful

Buzzbaits, Sammy's, pop Rs, prop baits, jitterbugs, spro frogs, chatterbaits etc. Every fish in the lake worth it's salt comes shallow and eats.
Ron Pm me with the tournament locations and I'll give you more specifics if I know the waters. _________________ Life's Short - Fish Hard - Take a Kid Fishing |

Hi All!
Night fishing can be fun and very rewarding -> BUT!
Don't forget to have a head or cap light (9 LED is what I use) + spare batteries.
AND Don't forget some bug repellent -> (I use Lewy's made in Maine or Badger Balm made in NH -> Best I've ever found! -> Also bring a small bottle of Dawn to wash any excess repellent off your hands before handling any tackle!)
Best regards,

When I used to fish a night all the time and primarily only at night I used a lot of what slimecoat said. In addition to those I also liked floating rapalas, size 9 or bigger and diving them for a few handles turns and letting them float back up pause and repeat. A dark 5" t-rigged senko fished almost like a fluke darting to the surface worked great for me aswell. |

OK Keep it coming. You can consider this my tip from your fishing partner. When you cast regardless of what lure you are using just make damn sure that it lands in the water or you're gonna have a snowballs chance in hell of catching anything, got it!

Black Jitter bug, Black spinnerbait with a trailer for a bigger profile and really big = 7" + black worms with a rattle in it. I hate night fishing. Also look for shoreline spots where people have their lights on all night. Bait seems to hang out there and wheres there bait theres fish. |

I'll throw a spiinerbait all night. Black 1/2 oz a short light wire type. One size 7 colorado blade. I use a black yum fat albert grub as a trailer. Have several, I have had bass totally hammer them and ruin the lure. Bug spray is a must.
I will only use a light to tie on or boat a fish. You get your night sight after awhile. Good luck Ron |

its tough to beat a big black clacking jitterbug, if you got moonlight throw it whereever the moonlight shines the brightest, i always get aggressive strikes that way, and mos def get a headlamp. Also for the bugs/nats puff on a nice stoogie. Keeps the bugs away and relaxes you at the same time. |

Lunker Cove - If I were puffing on a stogie I'd spew over the side and then fall in. Unfortunately, nicotine and I have agreed to disagree with one another.
SkeeterRon - I don't recall reading about your nighttime tournament results. How'd you do, anyway? What worked and didn't work for you? _________________ Don't forget to wear sunscreen and don't litter!
