This week, the DEP checked my license for the 5th time this year (Silver Lake.) I think I've met their entire staff now. Out of curiosity, I asked if a cell phone image of the license was acceptable, and was told it wouldn't be a problem. Just take a photo of the paper license and you'll be able to access your conservator ID from your phone. Might come in handy the original gets lost/damaged or forgotten.

I have not been asked to see it since last summer fun fishing at Gardner lake, and it was not by the DEP, it was by the Montville police driving around in their police boat.

I can't remember the last time I was asked by a DEP or ENCON representative. I think it is because I mostly fish bass tournaments now, and when they see 10 or more bass boats pulling out of the water or putting in all at the same time, they usually don't bother us because they know the odds are we are all legit, and have the proper licenses and safety gear on board.

Phil beat me to it. I totally agree as it is the easiest and most subtle way for them to get your name. Very Happy

I definately do not have the oppurtunity to fish as much as many people on this site, but I have not been asked for my fishing license in about 10 years here in CT.

I have been asked for it a lot in NH though.

So, dave_376, let me guess. . . you're a real hottie too, right? Cool

It's a burden that both you and TK will just have to carry. . . .

I have been asked at Batterson by the DEP survey police. That was the first time I was asked in years, and when I told them that I did not have one they looked at me and we stood there for about two minutes. Until I said I was kidding. I was waiting to hear what they would say. They did not say anything. I know back in the day when the Haddam Power Plant was open, the DEP was always there doing there job. Saw a lot of non licensed people get the gear taken.
