Your in the Tourney? How as a guest? This is a club tourney, unless there are two going on..
As for weeds, Yes there are. I did see any pads, but then again I didn't cover the whole lake. I think someone told me the far end has a small amount of pads.
Stay in the 15 to 20 FOW and you should do fine.
