Just got back from fishing a neighbor hood pond and caught at least a 8 pounder. thing is my mom and dad dont belive I caught it ( they dont belive I catch anything) my phone is my dads old phone and does not take picks.
To the story now was using berkley 4 in chigger craws rigged texas style with a 1/4 oz weight and second cast BOOM skreaming drag and I thuoght cool a carp then it jumped.......Then I was like mike iconnelli screaming my head off. took 2 min to get it in then i held it weighd it in my hands (travle light so no one can steal my stuff) and it was at least 8 pounds then I had the choice of taking it home to show everyone and weigh it but I realesed it and the descion is bugging like crazy. What do you all think am I a wuss or was there sense in my descion to realease it?? |

I wouldn't keep anything unless it's like a state record. |

I'd release even a fish that I thought was a state record. I think you made the right decision on that. But next time, bring a camera!
Were you fishing in VA or CT? I'll be in northern VA (Herndon) for a week and was considering bringing some gear with me. How much does a non-resident inland fishing license cost in VA, anyway? _________________ Don't forget to wear sunscreen and don't litter!

You made the right choice in releasing it. Even if it was a record if you don't have a livewell or something to keep the fish alive in you are better off releasing it. If you weigh a fish, measure length and girth, and take plenty of pictures of both sides top and bottom of a fish you can get some nice realistic mounts made up of any fish you catch and want to keep. |

All that is important is that you know what you caught, don't stress on what other people think. An 8lb bass is no easy feat, congrats |

The thing you're going to learn is that nobody ever believes you about "the big one", so screw them, you know about it... _________________ "Taco flavored Doritos
