West Shore under the Dexter Coffin bridge. Right now the river's too low to fish there but its great when the rivers high. I caught a 5lb4oz there and went back the next night with my dad and he caught a 7lb 6oz. we also caught a couple eels about 30". but i dont think you care too much about those. _________________ Bass > Trout |

In Windsor on Palisado Ave where the boat launch is. As you enter you will see a field on your right w/ a dirt road. Go to the end of the road and park (it's legal) and follow the trail to the river.
In Enfield at the Tompsonville boat launch fish right from the sandy bank. This is an especially good spot and well lit at night. 2 of us had a night here a couple of years ago where we caught about 50lbs of catfish - the biggest at 15lbs and 3 more over 10lbs. We caught like 15 fish that night. I will say that it is hit or miss here and it gets a lot of pressure.
Hartford has a sandy bank across river from Jennings Rd boat launch under the train tressel. While I have never fished from this spot, it looks excellent. I discovered it stripper fishing this year so I haven't tried for cats there yet (see post for river fishing to see what I mean). I will say that there is a lot of deep water and a lot of fish right in that area. You can cast to 30ft of water from shore. |

Yes, Flipper, you're fishing. It's not called catching for a reason! _________________ Don't forget to wear sunscreen and don't litter! |
