I live in the northeast corner of CT. and I kept seeing everyone else getting some good size bass,so I finally caught one and figured I'd add it..Sorry about the pic size, still getting used to posting pics...Caught this LMB in about 8 ft. of water on a watermelon Yum dinger, and as u can see my Benny's special rod..I have a $200 bait casting set up and it figures, I get a decent sized bass on my way less expensive set up lol

Congratulations! Did you eat it? I always catch and release, but I filleted and ate a 14-incher that swallowed the hook and didn't survive my inept hookectomy earlier this year. It was absolutely delicious! A little sea salt, a little freshly ground black pepper, a light dusting of Wondra flour and pan fried in salted butter. Yum!

If you plan to catch and release, you gotta be a little more gentle with the fish Wink

That's great you got one and released it. Got to agree with PECo that you probably don't want to lay it on asphalt (or the ground for that matter) because it damages the slime coat. Don't mean to nag, but the fish will have a much better shot with a healthy slime coat in tact. Nice looking fish!

That is a nice fish, good Job, I have come to find out a fisher can catch a fish with a old soda can, some fluro and a hook. The rod and reel only makes it easier, does not necessarily make the fisher better.
