Ok The Lake X thing was just a teaser..

For a few years SkeeterJim and I wanted to hit Breakneck pond, but the 1.3 mile walk through the wood with a boat on our backs was kinda a turn off.

But we DID IT....! We dolly'd my Twintroller (cttwintroller.com for those who don't know what a twin troller is) 1.3 miles up and down the dirt road.

It took us roughly about 45 minutes. Once we got to the pond our spirts lifted and the excitement..

The water temp was around 60ish, clear to about 8FOW. no electronics sorry.

We worked the wood, islands, weed line and banks. What an incredible place, Jim said "This is Bass Heaven"

Jim and I were so drunk with joy from catching so many fish the laughter took over. When we were rushing (on high speed) back to the far end of the lake to head home, we still made cast to the shore line and still caught bass.

We caught bass even when we didn't want to. We hated to leave Sad

We stopped counting bass after 50, we caught 12 bass each just in the first 30 minutes.

What an amazing place. The Bass caught ranged from 1lb to a 4+lber. Oh yeah, we caught slimdarts too.

Well worth the trip.. Next time, we will be bringing a smaller boat or a better dolly system.

SkeeterRon you gotta love places that you have to literally DRAG the boat to to go fishing. It not only helps you stay in shape but you always get fish as well. Laughing

BT,

Jim and I were still sore the next day.

When we got back to shore, Jim mentioned his thumb was almost raw from lipping so many bass. So was mine...

Yup I know the feeling. Thats why I got into powerlifting mostly for better hooksets on largemouths Laughing but also so I don't struggle as much draging the boat and trailer up an almost 90 degree hill. Mad I'll never forget gettin dragged down that hill with the boat and trailer into the water. 2 years later its nothing for me.

I got 3/4s of the way up that rocky road to breakneck today when my dolly carrying a 50lb canoe filled 40lbs of gear broke. Decided to turn back and head to Mashapaug rather than trying to drag it back after a day of fishing and paddling. think I almost died dragging the boat and gear back on a slab of wood strapped to the bottom.

I have no idea how you guys managed to dolly a 175lb boat down that trail, that is some feat. Next time I go back it will be either with a friend and way less gear or a blowup yak.

I'd be willing to haul a boat up there with you during the week sometime. Just say when.

I once pulled my 12' boat, trailer and gear around the gate at the 1860 res and launched it by hand by myself. It was a cold November and I really wanted to fish but the gate was closed so i decided to pull it by hand, I was 20 then, a lot stronger and appearently really eager to fish lol. The walk there wasn't as bad as the walk back as it was all up hill. I got skunked that day lol. At least you guys got rewarded for your efforts. WTG! Laughing

DV,

It was tough but we did it... We bent the axle on my dolly, I'm currently working on a better dolly system.
